The pagoda is located at the western of the ancient capital Hoa Lu, belonging to Gia Sinh commune, Ninh Binh. It is far about 15 kilometers from Ninh Binh province and 95 kilometers from Hanoi. Bai Dinh Pagoda population has the area of 539 hectares including 27 hectares of ancient Bai Dinh pagoda, 80 hectares of new Bai Dinh area.</span></div>

<span style="color: #0b5394;">The cluster monuments of Tran Temple is located in the suburb of Nam Dinh Province with many communal houses, pagodas, temples, tombs, stone shrines. Temples of Thien Truong, Co Trach and Pho Minh Pagoda - the famous cultural historical relics dedicated to Tran reign, founded on the land where the regime of Tran was generated. It is Tran Temple. In which, Thien Truong Temple worships 14 Tran Kings, set up under the later Le Dynasty. Co Trach Temple worships Tran Hung Dao, set up under the Nguyen Dynasty.</span></div>

<span style="color: #0b5394;">Tran Temple Festival annually lasts from the 15th-20th of lunar August. In the odd years, the festival is launched more magnificently than in even years. Nevertheless, visitors all over the country do not wait for the very happening of the festival to join but eagerly go on pilgrimage far prior to the day. On their arrival, every people do expect the good and happy things. The large flag flutters in front of the temple - the traditional flag with striking colours standing for five basic elements, its square shape stands for earth (negative), the sickle-shaped tassels for heaven (positive). The word “Tran” is embroidered amidst the flag in Chinese characters by two combined words “Dong” and “A”.</span></div>

The incense-offering rite involves in 14 virgins carrying 14 trays of flowers into the temple and placing them on thrones in the musical vibration. <span style="color: #0b5394;">The festival involves various cultural activities: cock fighting, five-generation fighting art performances, wrestling, unicorn dance, bai bong dance, sword dance, cheo singing, van singing and so on. According to historic records, under the rule of King Tran Nhan Tong, after the Mongolian invaders were defeated, the King offered feast through 03 successive days known as “Thai binh dien yen”. The Great tutor Tran Quang Khai composed the </span><span style="color: #0b5394;">dance for the victory namely “bai bong” and taught the imperial singers to perform. The dancers were pretty ladies dressed in the ethnic clothes, putting on their shoulders a short pole hanging with flower baskets or paper-made lanterns at the two ends. The dancers also held on to a fan to enrich their performance. “Bai bong” dance contained acts of “bat dat”, “luc dat” and “tu dat”. Nevertheless, it was neatly adjusted under the Nguyen Dynasty. Currently, there is still a team of skilled dancers of the kind in Phuong Bong ward on the outskirts of Nam Dinh. It is said that Hat Van is derived from Hat Chau composed under the Tran Dynasty, popularised and trimmed under the Le Mat time.</span></div>

Quan ho folk songs have 213 different melody variations and more than 400 song lyrics. A song lyric includes two parts: the principal text is the core of the song, containing its base lyrics. The lyrics of Quan ho folk songs derived from poems and folk verses of the Viet Nam, mostly 6 syllable and 8 syllable verses, modified 6 syllable and 8 syllable verses, 4 syllable or mixed 4 syllable verses express people’s emotional states in metaphorical language. From the friendship custom, a special social custom appears among Quan ho groups. It’s friend-making custom. Each Quan ho group from one village makes friends with another group from another village following the principle that male groups make friends with female groups and vice versa. With the friendship-partner villages, men and women in Quan ho groups from these villages are not allowed to marry each other. </span></div>

Male and female singers combine and practice their voices in pairs in order to have a unified timbre for performance. </span></div>

<span style="color: #0b5394;">Quan ho gastronomy uses phoenix wing-shaped quid of betel and areca, Thai Nguyen tea. Dishes in the meal depend on each village’s custom but must include a plate of chicken, two plates of lean pork paste, lean pork; especially no fat dishes to avoid damaging voice.</span></div>

<span style="color: #0b5394;">Phong Nam has numerous examples of old architecture such as pagodas, temples, communal houses, ancient houses, holy places and houses of worship.  Amongst them, a communal house to worship Emperor Yan- Shen Nong, who invented farming in the mythology of ancient China, still retains its ancient charm.  This is where the Muc Dong Festival is held annually on 27 and 28 November, an event which honours the children who tend the buffalos and when prayers are said for good weather and a bumper crop.  Apart from a procession of buffalo boys and girls along with representatives of the village’s clans who carry palanquins, whips, flags and farming tools, the festival also features many games such as a blindfolded-man catching ducks and tug-of-war.    </span></div>

Especially, the villas were designed sophisticatedly with cleverly carved features, reliefs and decoration details in French style; the façade was encrusted with stone or porcelain;  the floor was tiled with marble.</span></div>

Cu Da Temple has been preserved as a precious historical heritage, including a pair of palanquin over 300 years of age; according to the legends it used to belong to King Le Canh Hung. Patterns of dragon and phoenix were carved on the temple walls and the worship palanquin. The temple has been recognized as the national heritage. The bold feature can be seen at Cu Da Pagoda is a pair of elephant, of young lion and dragon, all in stone, placed in the front yard, under the old banyan tree. There is also an old bell hung under a winding holder carved with patterns of phoenix and dragon.</span></div>

Inside the tower, there are a number of valuable artifacts such as a large bell dating back in Canh Thinh Dynasty (1793), a big bronze gong casted in Ming Mang Dynasty (1817) and several statues of Gods in Buddhist legends.</span></div>
